Oliva’s history dates back to pre-Cuban War of Independence when Melanio Oliva started growing his own tobacco in 1886. The company is still family owned and operated and in the 1960’s moved to the beautiful country of Nicaragua. Since then, they have had several lines and highly rated cigars; with the Serie V Melanio receiving a 96 point rating and being named #1 Cigar of 2014 by Cigar Aficionado.
Oliva Cain cigars are handmade in Nicaragua using a 'straight ligero' blend of triple-fermented long fillers, plus a pinch of Seco and Viso for combustibility. Two wrapper choices are offered: the Habano has a nutty base accented by mocha and pepper, while the Maduro's cocoa-inflected sweetness benefits from notes of leather and spice.
