Plasencia

The Plasencia family has a long history of growing tobacco, dating back to 1865 when Don Eduardo Plasencia left the Canary Islands and started growing tobacco in Cuba. After almost 100 years in Cuba, the family fled to Mexico due to political turmoil and after relocating to Nicaragua, they started from scratch again. Unfortunately, their time in Nicaragua did not last long as turmoil continued, forcing the family to move to Honduras in 1978. The Plasencias were able to return to Nicaragua in 1990 and decided to operate factories out of both countries to increase production and focus on innovation within the tobacco industry. In 2017, after decades and many generations, the Plasencia family launched their own brand. Today, they are the largest tobacco grower for premium cigars in the world, have over 30 brands that trust Plasencia to product their cigars, are the only OCIA-certified tobacco company, growing organic tobaccos, and have expanded their portfolio to several highly rated and acclaimed blends.
